Astoria Middle School

On a drive to Ocean Park, Washington, I found myself craving a good beach volleyball session. I remembered some friends mentioning courts in the area, but tracking them down was another story. Luckily, a friendly baseball coach mowing the field pointed me in the right direction. That’s how I discovered two sand courts hidden behind Astoria Middle School, right next to the baseball field. I had the place to myself on a cool, quiet weekend—pure bliss. If you’re heading there on a sunny day, it’s a good idea to check with the school to see if the courts are available.
